Babbitt's Takes 6th Straight Arenacross Win, Sweeps Top 3 in Round 3

1/25/2010

It’s more than a hot streak: With Tyler Bowers’ victories in both races of Round 3, Team Babbitt’s has won every event of the AMA Arenacross season to date. Round 3 was held January 22-23 in Hampton, Virginia.

The action began Friday night, with Bowers grabbing the lead in the fourth lap to take the victory. Teammate Chad Johnson claimed the third spot on the podium, with Josh Demuth rounding out the top ten. The next day, Bowers again came from behind after the first few laps to nail his fifth straight victory. Babbitt’s swept the Saturday night podium, with Johnson and Demuth taking second and third places.

With 143 points, Bowers leads the race for the championship. Johnson, who won the season’s first race, holds second place overall, and Demuth is in fourth, just one point behind the third place rider.

Babbitt’s’ manager Denny Bartz says that Maxxis products made a crucial difference for his team in Round 3: “Tire selection becomes very important when you’re racing on dirt like we were in Virginia. Maxxcross ITs were the way to go, and they landed all three of our riders on the podium.”

Maxxis congratulates Tyler Bowers on his latest victories and Chad Johnson and Josh Demuth on their outstanding performances.
