Baron Wins WORCS Round 7; Maxxis 1-2 in Pro

7/26/2010

Team MCR/Maxxis rider Beau Baron took his third WORCS win of the year at Round 7, crossing the finish line more than a minute ahead of the next rider. The race was held July 23-25 in Olympia, Washington.

Baron, who is currently second in the race for the championship by just three points, also won the WORCS X race. Baron’s Razr rear and Razr 2 front tires proved a good choice for Round 7, according to MCR/Maxxis team manager and pro racer Mike Cafro: “This track had a lot of traction issues because of the hills and the natural springs that create slippery and rocky areas. We did our homework and had a really good tire set-up.”

Other Maxxis riders also did well at Round 7. Current GNNC points leader Chris Borich took second place, and Baron’s MCR/Maxxis teammate Josh Row grabbed sixth. A fifth Pro Am victory gave teammate Davi Haagsma a lock on the title, with a lead of 64 points. In the Women A class, the team’s Julie Russell took her sixth straight victory. With a 28-point overall lead, Russell is also on track for a class title.

Maxxis congratulates Beau Baron and all its riders and thanks them for choosing the brand of champions.
