Borich Wins GNCC Klotz Ironman; Cecco Wins Women’s Title
10/27/2008Chris Borich ended the 2008 GNCC season on a winning note with a victory at the Klotz Ironman. Maxxis took nine of the top ten and Traci Cecco locked up the GNCC women’s title at the race, held October 25-26 in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
Borich fought a tight battle for first place. “It was wide open out there,” he told racerpress.com. This year’s champ Bill Ballance took the holeshot and third place at the Ironman, while Donald Ockerman, XC2 class champion, scored second place. Adam McGill nabbed fourth. In sixth through tenth places, in order, were Bryan Cook, Brandon Sommers, Jarrod McClure, Ryan Lane and Matthew Smiley.
Cecco braved numerous difficulties to take her seventh victory of the season along with the women’s title. “I was nervous, I admit it,” she told racerpress.com. “I haven't even been able to sleep lately…I'm just so relieved right now.” Cecco can presumably rest easy now that the championship is safely in her hands.
Maxxis congratulates Chris Borich on his victory and Traci Cecco on her title, and thanks all of these riders for proving that GNCC champions ride Razrs.
