Bryceland, Minnaar 3rd and 4th at DH World Cup #6
8/03/2012Santa Cruz Syndicate’s Josh Bryceland and Greg Minnaar braved a rock-filled course to take third and fourth at the sixth downhill World Cup of the season. The event was held July 29 in Val d’lsere, France.
Bryceland began the day with a strong qualifying run, placing second. The World Cup podium was the third of his career and his second of the year. “My run was pretty good,” he said. “I made some minor mistakes, but I was really happy with how it turned out, and third place was a very cool reward.”
Minnaar, who qualified sixth, held the lead for a time after his main run, which was half a second faster than his main rival’s. Minnaar is second in overall World Cup downhill standings, and is 19 points ahead of the next rider. Continuing his recovery from an injured hamstring, the Syndicate’s Steve Peat took 12th place at Val d’lsere.
Maxxis congratulates all of these riders on their outstanding performances and wishes them the best in the remaining World Cup race.
