Forsberg Wins Formula Drift Round 5

8/10/2009

In a performance which tightened his hold on the series’ lead, Chris Forsberg rode MA-Z1 Drifts to victory at Round 5 of Formula D. Held August 7-8 in Monroe, Washington, Breaking Point bumped Forsberg’s points’ total to 410, 47 more than the next driver.

Evergreen Speedway’s tight transitions and banking were no match for Forsberg, who advanced steadily through each round. He says that his tires were a major asset on such a difficult course: “We just had absolutely no issues with the grip and control of the tires. Seattle has the biggest and smallest corners in the series, on the same track. The range of grip that the tires have, between the enormous bank and the tight hairpin, helped us to stay consistent against our competitors throughout the rounds.”

Forsberg also holds the lead in the series’ race for the prestigious Tires.com Triple Crown, with 205 points. The Tires.com Triple Crown is based on the outcome of Rounds 2, 5 and 7.

Maxxis congratulates Chris Forsberg and thanks him for proving again that Maxxis is the brand of champions.
