Haagsma Takes Quad-X Title

11/12/2012

With a resounding victory in the final round, David Haagsma took the 2012 Quad-X series championship, with Team Maxxis/H&M teammate Beau Baron in third place overall for the year. Round 10 was held November 10 in San Bernardino, California.

Haagsma needed wins in both motos to clinch the championship, and he delivered handily. He grabbed the holeshot in the first moto and went on to win relatively easily. “Everything went well. It was a clean race. My motor pulled great, and my Maxxis tires really hooked up,” Haagsma told atvriders.com. Although he faced a challenge in the second moto, at one point finding himself in fifth place, Haagsma was again first across the finish line: “My Maxxis Xm tires were the main reason I took the lead. [The leader] kept sliding out, and my tires got such great grip. They hooked up, and I was able to put the hammer down.” Baron joined him on the podium in third place after taking third in both motos.

The two racked up additional time on the podium the next day, when Baron won the Lake Elsinore Grand Prix and Haagsma took second place.

Maxxis congratulates David Haagsma on his Quad-X championship and Beau Baron on his Lake Elsinore Grand Prix victory, and thanks both riders for a season of fine performances!
