Jonnier 3rd at UCI World Cup Round 1
4/21/2009With a podium appearance by Sabrina Jonnier, Team Maxxis-Rocky Mountain is off to a roaring start in the race for the UCI World Cup in downhill. Riding High Rollers, Jonnier took third place at the series’ first round, held April 12 in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa.
Scoring the fastest run initially, Jonnier bested the region’s oppressive heat to post a final time of 4:28.61. The world’s top woman in downhill racing, Jonnier is a familiar sight on UCI podiums.
Teammate Cameron Cole rode Minions to an impressive performance, earning a career-best sixth place. Cole beat his qualifying time by 12 seconds for a 3:53.20 finish.
