Jonnier Wins World Cup Downhill #2
5/12/2009Team Maxxis-Rocky Mountain’s Sabrina Jonnier took a major victory at World Cup #2 in downhill, held May 10 in La Bresse, France.
Jonnier took on the challenging course with a ride that cyclingnews.com called “perfect,” finishing in 2:28.57 minutes. She was the only rider to complete her run in less than 2 minutes and 30 seconds, according to the website. Jonnier’s performance has also propelled her to first place in the overall standings: with 2,247 points, she leads by 125.
"I'm super happy to give Maxxis-Rocky Mountain its first World Cup win," an elated Jonnier told cyclingnews.com. "I dedicated my race to my mum, whose dad just passed away. Thanks to Maxxis, Rocky and the team for all their support."
