Kabush Takes 4th NMBS XC Title
9/09/2008There’s no stopping a champion like Geoff Kabush: The Team Maxxis rider just earned his fourth NMBS cross country title by taking third place at the series’ finals. The race was held August 31 in Brian Head, Utah.
"For the first ten minutes, the race was neutral up the road climb, which was good for me," Kabush told cyclingnews.com. "I crested the hill in about tenth place. It is hard to just race 80 percent, so I just started to go hard. It definitely hurt, but I could see the leaders ahead of me. Most of the race, I was sixth to eighth and was able to pick off a few guys near the end. "
Kabush’s title came on the heels of his third place showing at the World Cup in Australia just one day earlier. He flew 22 hours immediately after finishing that race in order to make the NMBS contest.
