Maxxis Dominates GNCC Power Line Park

10/05/2009

Maxxis ruled at Round 12 of the GNCC series, Power Line Park. Chris Borich, who clinched this year’s ATV title at Round 11, racked up another victory, while Maxxis’ sponsored riders took six of the top seven spots in XC1. In the motorcycle race, Jason Thomas won the XC2 class, while Jesse Robinson made the XC1 top ten despite riding with a serious injury. Power Line Park was held October 3 in St. Clairsville, Ohio.

Bill Ballance took the holeshot in ATV, trading the lead with Brandon Sommers, Bryan Cook, Borich and another rider for much of the race. After a contentious last lap, Borich grabbed the win. Cook, Sommers, Ballance, Taylor Kiser and Donald Ockerman rode their Razrs to the third through seventh place spots.

Thomas’ XC2 win was his second of the year. "This one felt just like Snowshoe. I didn't make big mistakes, and I had good luck," he told gnccracing.com. The Monster Energy/FAR Yamaha rider is third in XC2 standings and is ranked seventh overall. Teammates Dave Snyder and Morgan Moss also did well at Power Line Park, taking fifth and sixth places in XC2.

A broken hand wasn’t enough to stop Maxxis’ rider Jesse Robinson, who took seventh place in XC1. Robinson is ninth overall in XC1 standings.

The last race of the season, the Klotz Ironman, is scheduled for October 24-25 in Crawfordsville, Indiana. Maxxis congratulates 2009 GNCC ATV champion Chris Borich and Jason Thomas on their victories and thanks all of its riders for their fine performances.
