Maxxis Riders 6 of GNCC ATV Overall Top 10

10/26/2009

With a final victory for ATV champion Chris Borich, Maxxis ended the season dominating the GNCC’s top ranks. The company’s sponsored riders hold six places in the overall top ten. Borich and longtime champion Bill Ballance were first and second at Round 13, the Klotz Ironman, held October 23-24 in Crawfordsville, Indiana.

Ballance grabbed the holeshot and held the early lead at the race, with Borich and fellow Maxxis rider Taylor Kiser following close behind. The Ironman’s steep, hilly track posed a challenge for every rider, including eventual winner Borich, who took the lead in the closing stretch. "I like the last lap," Borich said. "It was pretty tough out there, but it was an awesome day. The hillclimbs were gnarly. This is one of the best tracks on the circuit, and there were fans everywhere." Other Maxxis riders also did well at the race, with Donald Ockerman and Bryan Cook taking fifth and seventh places. In welcome news to his many fans, Ballance, who was plagued by health problems early in the season, announced that he will compete in every GNCC race in 2010.

Borich and Kiser took first and second place in the series’ overall standings, with Ballance in fourth, Cook fifth, Brandon Sommers sixth and Donald Ockerman in seventh place. Maxxis’ Traci Cecco took second place overall in the women’s class.

Maxxis congratulates Chris Borich and thanks all of its riders for their fine performances throughout the season.
