Maxxis Riders Top 2 in GNCC XC2 Motorcycle

7/10/2012

Andrew Delong and Jason Thomas took first and second place for Maxxis in the XC2 Pro Lites class at the latest round of the GNCC motorcycle series. Round 9 was held July 8 in Millfield, Ohio.

In what fans regarded as the most exciting battle of the day, the two riders traded the front position throughout the race, with FAR Husqvarna’s Delong gaining a 25-second lead in the last lap. "That’s how I like to race! I was just following, waiting for a mistake to be made. It was hot out, and I was just waiting till the last lap to see if he had anything left. My [bike] worked great, and my pit was so fast today. I just need to keep winning races. I missed the first two races, so we need to keep winning and see where we end up in points,” Delong said.

FAR Husqvarna’s Nick Davis finished fifth in XC2 Pro Lites. Maxxis riders Thomas, Delong and Jesse Robinson are second, third and fourth in points for the class.

In XC1 Pro, Chris Bach took a season-best fourth place, with fellow Maxxis-sponsored rider Josh Strang in sixth. Bach is seventh in XC1 Pro points.

Maxxis congratulates Andrew Delong on his victory and thanks all of its riders for their fine performances.
