Katerina Nash of the Luna Pro Team won the third round of the US Pro XCT, held June 16 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

In addition to the already-substantial challenges of the course, Nash and her fellow riders contended with a thunderstorm which struck during the second lap, turning the route into a “mudfest” according to cyclingnews.com. "The conditions changed drastically because of the clay. There were sections where you could not corner,” Nash told cyclingnews.com. Aided by her pit crew, who removed the clay which had built prior to the last lap, Nash won by a margin of 2 minutes and 25 seconds.

Another Maxxis rider also made it through the mud to the podium. Sho-Air Specialized’s Pua Mata took second place.

Maxxis congratulates Katerina Nash on her victory and thanks Pua Mata for her fine performance.
