Naughton Wins 1st Two Rounds of Lucas Oil Off-Road Series
4/15/2009You can’t keep a champion down: Robert Naughton didn’t let a little thing like a broken foot keep him from winning the opening rounds of the new Lucas Oil Off-Road series. Naughton won Rounds 1 and 2 of LOORS, despite undergoing surgery on his injured foot just four weeks earlier.
The races were held April 4-5 in Primm, Nevada.
“I drove with my left foot. It was actually a much bigger challenge than I thought it would be,” said Naughton. “I was nervous. I wasn’t sure that I could make it work, but we prepared, we have a great crew, and I have the best tires out there. To win Round 1 and Round 2 was more than I could have asked for. I’m very happy. My Bighorns worked excellent, and the team did their job.” Naughton, CORR’s Pro Lite Driver of the Year and winner of the Pro Lite title in 2007, competes in LOORS’ Unlimited Lite class.
With extensive coverage on SPEED TV, The Outdoor Network, Versus, and MavTV, LOORS is sure to expand off-road racing’s already large fan base. The next race is scheduled for May 2-3 in Surprise, Arizona.
Maxxis congratulates Robert Naughton for his winning kick-off in the LOORS series and thanks him for choosing the brand of champions.
