Pendrel Clinches XC World Cup; Luna Sweeps Podium
7/02/2012With a victory at Windham, Catharine Pendrel locked up the 2012 World Cup overall title in women’s cross country. Pendrel and her teammates took all three top spots at the sixth round of the series, held June 30 in New York.
The win, Pendrel’s third of the year in the cross country World Cup, put her in an unbeatable position in overall points, with one race left in the schedule. Fellow Luna rider Georgia Gould led for much of the race, with Pendrel and teammate Katerina Nash close behind. When a mishap cost Gould the lead, Pendrel and Nash crossed the finish line first and second, with Gould in third place. Another Maxxis-sponsored rider, Rocky Mountain’s Marie-Helene Premont, took fourth place.
Maxxis congratulates Catharine Pendrel on her victory and on clinching the 2012 World Cup overall in women’s cross country, and thanks all of its riders for their fine performances.
