Prather, Scott Win BITD Vegas to Reno Pro ATV
8/23/2012Danny Prather and David Scott rode one set of Maxxis’ Razr tires to victory in Best in the Desert’s (BITD) Vegas to Reno, the longest off-road race in the U.S. Fellow Maxxis riders Brandon Brown and Garrin Fuller came in a close second in Pro Quads at the race, held August 16-18.
Prather and Scott managed to top the podium even though Prather took time from the course early on to help an injured motorcycle rider, fashioning a makeshift splint from two sticks. The race was a close one, as riders battled dust, construction delays and misplaced course markers over the 534-mile route. “We had a great race,” said Prather. “Our CT Racing Honda ran strong the whole race with no flats at all, and we went the entire race on one set of Maxxis Razr tires! It was exciting towards the end with how close the competition was. Thank you so much to all of our sponsors who made it possible for us to pull off this win.” Prather and Scott also did well in overall standings for the race, with an eighth-place finish.
For Brown, Fuller and the rest of the Quad75Dezert crew, Vegas to Reno was an equally close and exciting contest. "It was the dustiest race I have ever done,” Fuller noted afterward. “I had so much fun and am stoked that we finished as close as we did," Fuller said after the race. "I came into this race not knowing one thing about desert racing and think for my first race we did pretty good." In addition to their second-place spot on the podium in Pro ATV, Quad75Dezert finished ninth overall.
Maxxis congratulates Danny Prather and David Scott on their victory and thanks the riders of Quad75Dezert for their fine performances.
