Strong Takes X Games Gold

7/03/2012

Metal Mulisha’s Jackson Strong was one of three riders on Maxxcross tires to earn medals at the 2012 X Games, held June 28 - July 1 in Los Angeles.

Strong won a gold medal for Moto X Best Trick with a stunt he calls the “Jack.” The body varial variation calls for him to backflip his body over his bike. "I didn't want to just be known for the front flip, so I went out and learned something totally new," he told ESPN of the trick, which helped him score a 91 on his first run. "I named it the 'Jack' because I think in years to come, when it starts to get thrown out in freestyle runs, people are going to be able to combo off it. I'm just stoked, for real, to get another gold medal." Strong also took first place in Best Trick at last year’s X Games.

Brian Deegan, who has racked up championships in short course truck racing racing for the past two years, returned again to his two-wheel roots with a bronze medal for Moto X Step-Up. The Metal Mulisha founder cleared the bar at an impressive 39 feet.

RPM Racing Team’s Chantelle Bykerk also claimed a medal, taking bronze in the Moto X Enduro X Women’s race on Maxxcross EN tires. "It was one of the most exciting races and experiences in my life,” she told ESPN. “I cannot wait until the next X Games in 2013!”

Maxxis congratulates all of these riders on their accomplishments at the 2012 X Games, and thanks them for choosing the brand of champions.
