Bowers Takes Arenacross Points Lead

Defending champion Tyler Bowers took the points lead at Round 8 of the AMSOIL Arenacross series, held February 21-23 in Reno, Nevada.

Bowers won the first main on Friday night and took fifth place in the following race for third place for the night. He again won the first main on the second night, and took seventh place in the second main, winning first place overall for the night. The overall victory was his sixth of the season to date.

The Babbitt’s Monster Energy/AMSOIL Kawasaki presented by Maxxis rider enters the next phase of the series, the Race for the Championship, at the front of the pack with six points. Teammate Zach Ames, who was sixth and seventh overall for the weekend’s two nights of racing, goes into the final four rounds of the season in second place with five points. The team’s Colt Nichols, who took second place overall Saturday night by taking fourth in both mains, also made the Race to the Championship, in seventh place with two points. Only the top ten riders from the season’s first eight rounds are eligible to compete in the Race to the Championship.
