Nichols 2nd at Arenacross Round 4 After Winning 2nd Main Race

In a career first, Team Babbitt’s presented by Maxxis’ Colt Nichols won a main race and took second place overall at the fourth round of the 2014 Arenacross series. Round 4 was held January 25-26 in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Nichols was on the podium throughout the weekend. He took third place in the first race, after a mishap in the eighth lap between teammates Zach Ames and Tyler Bowers. Despite his difficulties, Ames, the current points leader, managed a seventh-place finish in the first main.

In the second main, Nichols took an early lead and held it through the finish line, giving fans a thrilling race as he kept the front spot with his fellow riders only a few bike lengths behind. Bowers and Ames took fifth and sixth in the race, and were sixth and seventh for the round.

Ames retains his overall lead with 151 points, with defending champion Bowers in third place. After his outstanding performance over the weekend, Nichols moved into sixth place overall.

Maxxis congratulates Colt Nichols on his victory and wishes all the riders of Team Babbitt’s presented by Maxxis the best in their upcoming races.
