Piplic, Mead, Jones, Bowers Among Maxxis’ Weekend Winners

Riders sponsored by Maxxis again topped podiums across the country this weekend, with victories for Ryan Piplic, Rory Mead, Justin Jones and Tyler Bowers among the highlights.

Piplic took first place in Production 1000 at Round 1 of the Lucas Oil Regional Off Road Series, held February 15 in San Bernardino, California. He finished the 12-lap race in 13:15.334.

Maxxis/KLIM/DirtWise KTM’s Mead topped the podium at the final round of the SORCS Winter Nationals, held February 15-16 in Perry, Georgia. Mead shared the Pro AA class podium with teammate Jason Thomas, who took third place.

RPM Racing’s Justin Jones won the Pro 450F class at Round 5 of the Transworld MX series, held February 16 in Anza, California.

Round 7 of the AMSOIL Arenacross series saw Tyler Bowers go 3-1 in the mains to win the overall on Friday night, and 2-3 for second place overall on Saturday. Bowers’ Babbitt’s Monster Energy/AMSOIL Kawasaki presented by Maxxis teammate, Zach Ames, won the first main and took second place in the next main for second place overall on Friday. Ames won the first main again the next day, and took fifth place in the second main, for third place overall for the day. The team’s Colt Nichols also did well during the weekend, taking sixth overall for Friday night and fifth place in the first main the following day. Ames retains a lead in the series’ overall standings and is separated from Bowers by a three-point margin.
