X Games Bronze for Gutish, Davis 2nd in GNCC XC2

Maxxis’ sponsored rider Rachel Gutish chose competition at X Games Austin over her own high school graduation, a decision which paid off when she took her first-ever X Games medal. X Games Austin was held June 5-8 in Texas.

The FMF/RPM/KTM Racing Team Maxxis rider took the bronze in women’s Endurocross at X Games Austin, her sixth X Games appearance. Gutish told xgames.espn.go.com that in addition to her high school commencement, she decided to forgo a chance to break her high school’s pole vaulting record to attend the Games. Other Maxxis-sponsored riders who rode in Austin include Ty Tremaine, Rily Ellinger, Bobby Prochnau and Lance Coury, and Maxxis congratulates all of these riders on competing in this world-class event.

In other good news for Maxxis, KR4’s Nick Davis took second place in XC2 Pro Lites at GNCC Round 9, held June 7 in Millfield, Ohio. Davis’ teammates also did well during the weekend: Grant Davis and Peyton Whipkey took second and third places in the Youth class, while Colin Keegan took second place in 250B. Trevor Bollinger grabbed fourth place in XC2.

Mike Witkowski led a Maxxis podium sweep in 250A. Named Top Amateur for the day, he was also 14th overall after starting in the fourth row. Craig Delong and Austin Lee took the second and third-place spots in Maxxis’ 250A sweep. Doug Blackwell won the Senior 40+ class, and Lucas Towery took third place in Sportsman A and fifth overall for the morning race.

Maxxis thanks all of its riders for their fine performances this weekend.
