Levi Shirley Title Sponsor Ultra 4 King of the Hammers

Maxxis will be the title sponsor for Levi Shirley as he competes in the 2015 Ultra 4 King of the Hammers, the company has announced. The weeklong series of races runs February 1-7 in Johnson Valley, California, commonly known as “Hammertown” for the week of the race.

Shirley will ride Maxxis 40” Trepadors for both the qualifier and the Ultra 4 race, which this year will cover a rugged 215 miles. “I’m beyond excited,” said Shirley of Maxxis’ sponsorship, which extends through 2016.

He expects that the 2015 event will be even more challenging than in previous years: “Our class, the 4400, is completely unlimited, and they lengthened the course this year and made it a whole lot tougher. This year is the first year that I’ve run a single-seat race, so I don’t have anyone with me.” Shirley won’t lack for support, however; his father, pro driver Brian Shirley, will handle the pit crew and logistics for the race.

Brad Williams of Maxxis said that the company is enthusiastic about its support for Levi: “A talent for racing runs in the Shirley family, and we’re thrilled to sponsor the next generation of this racing dynasty.” Maxxis is proud to sponsor Levi Shirley and looks forward to cheering him on to victory in Ultra 4 King of the Hammers.
