Win for Team Honda Research at Susquehannock Trail Rally

The Maxxis-sponsored Team Honda Research has chalked up another victory, this time at the Susquehannock Trail Rally. The event, the latest round of the 2WD Rally America National Championships, was held May 30-31 in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania.

Competing against cars with double the horsepower, Team Honda Research was fourth overall among 2WD vehicles. The team also gained a strong lead in the race for the championship by winning the B-Spec class, their fourth victory of the season.

Here’s what driver James Robinson and Brian Penza had to say about the Maxxis R19 rally tires. “We had great success with the R19 at the Oregon Trail rally earlier this month, so we are looking forward to trying them out on this unique dirt/gravel surface,” said Robinson at the start of the race. By the second service of Day 2, both drivers were pleased by the tires’ performance. “We have three long stages remaining, and we haven’t even touched the tires since the start of the race,” said Penza. “You really can’t ask for a more reliable set-up.”

Maxxis has joined with Honda Performance Development to sponsor Team Honda Research in 2014. To read a detailed account of the team at the Susquehannock Trail Rally, please visit http://blog.hpd.honda.com/2014/06/susquehannock-trail-pro-rally-with-b.html
