A spot on the podium at the season’s final event clinched Carolyn Buchanan’s UCI BMX Supercross World Cup series championship. The fifth round of the UCI BMX SX World Cup was held September 28 in Chula Vista, California. 

Buchanan took second place at the event, after passing another rider late in the race. She ended the season with a total of 1570 points, ten more than the next rider. 

“It’s a great feeling to wrap up the season on a high,” Buchanan told fatbmx.comIn these seasons, consistency is everything. I’m really happy with myself for the consistency I’ve shown. It’s been a long season. and I can’t thank my support network enough.” This year’s championship is the second for Buchanan, who also won the title in 2012.
