Kabush Takes 8th Canadian National Title; Maxxis Sweeps Canadian XC Nationals

In a career milestone, Geoff Kabush took his eighth national title with a victory at the Canadian Cross Country National Championships. And in a sweep of the podium for Maxxis, Kabush’s Scott/3Rox teammate Derek Zandstra and Rocky Mountain Bicycles’ Raphael Gagne joined him in the top three. The race was held July 20 in Oro Medonte, Canada.

Part of a group of three by the second lap, Kabush secured his victory in the final lap, finishing in 1:39:31. “It came down to the last five minutes,” Kabush told cyclingnews.com. “I had the mental energy to really focus and squeeze it out on the last climb and get a gap. On a course like this, it’s all about being efficient right to the end. The goal for the team was to get the jersey again, and it was a successful day for Derek and me being one-two. I’m looking forward to the next couple World Cups representing the jersey.”

With this victory, the longtime Maxxis rider became Canada’s most successful cross country rider ever. Maxxis is proud to sponsor this cycling legend and congratulates him on this landmark achievement.
