Luna Chix Top UCI World Cup Rankings; Pendrel 2nd in UCI World Cup XC Race

Outstanding performances in two straight World Cup races have propelled Catharine Pendrel to second place in UCI World Cup cross country rankings, as the Luna Pro Team remains at the top of UCI World Cup team standings.

As the racing season reaches its mid-point, Pendrel is just 66 points from first place in UCI rankings. Her most recent podium came May 29 in La Bresse, when she took second place in the Elite Women’s race. From the beginning of the event, she worked her way steadily toward the front, where she joined teammate Katerina Nash, who had been part of an early chase group. Pendrel was third by the fourth lap, and was second after an intense final climb. Nash also turned in an outstanding performance with a fourth-place finish.

Just a week earlier, Pendrel made the World Cup podium in Albstadt, Germany. She was part of an early chase group, and was fast even on Albstadt’s many difficult climbs, ultimately finishing third.

Pendrel, a two-time Olympian, and Nash, who has competed four times, have both set their sights on this year’s Olympic Games in Rio de Janiero, Brazil. Maxxis thanks Catharine Pendrel and Katerina Nash for their outstanding performances, and wishes the entire Luna team the best in their upcoming races.
