MAXXIS Dominates Australian DH National Championships

Maxxis dominated the Elite Men’s and Elite Women’s podiums at the Australian Downhill National Championships, held March 2-4 in Bright, Victoria. Troy Brosnan took the victory in the Elite Men’s race, with 2017 champ Jack Moir and Jackson Frew taking second and third places and Dean Hannah taking fifth. In the Elite Women’s race, Tegan Molloy, Sian A’Hern, Lisa Mathison, and Kellie Weinert earned second, third, fourth and fifth places.

The Mystic downhill course was dry and dusty for both events. Brosnan covered the steep, technical track in 3:46.78, finishing .09 seconds ahead of Moir, while Frew came in at 3:51:00 and Lucas at 3:58:37.

In the women’s race, Molloy finished in 4:53.99, with A’hern at 5:01.78, Mathison at 5:17.87, and Weinert at 5:31.34.

Another A’Hern, Sian’s younger brother Kye, had his turn on the podium when he won the Junior Men’s race in 3:55.02, a finish 7.46 seconds faster than the second-place rider. The two come by their athleticism naturally; their father, Nick A’Hern, is a three-time Olympian speed walker.

Maxxis is proud to sponsor all of these fine athletes and congratulates Troy Brosnan and Kye A’Hern on their victories and Jack Moir, Jackson Frew, Dean Hannah, Tegan Molloy, Sian A’Hern, Lisa Mathison and Kellie Weinert on their outstanding performances.
