Nash Wins First UCI World Cup Cyclocross Race

Nash Wins First UCI World Cup Cyclocross Race in U.S.

Katerina Nash topped the podium at the UCI Cyclocross World Cup race, the first such race every held in the U.S. Cross Vegas was held September 16 in conjunction with Interbike, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Nash finished in 49:17, 15 seconds ahead of the next rider, after taking the lead with one and a half laps to go. “I never start to think about winning until I cross the finish line,” she told crossvegas.com,  “but I got a gap and then I pushed it really hard, and I was happy to see that nobody came back. I’ve been to every Cross Vegas except one, and it was special to win this one that’s the first World Cup race in the USA.”

Three of Nash’s Luna Chix teammates also finished in the top ten. Georgia Gould, Catharine Pendrel and Maghalie Rochette were fourth, fifth and ninth, respectively.

Maxxis congratulates Katerina Nash on her Cross Vegas victory and thanks Georgia Gould, Catharine Pendrel and Maghalie Rochette for their fine performances.
