Stephens finishes 4th overall, Kiesanowski 7th overall in Lotto Tour.

Geraardsbergen, Belgium – Team TIBCO-To the Top continued its strong week at the UCI 2.2 Lotto Belisol Tour, where Lauren Stephens and Joanne Kiesanowski delivered another excellent performance in the final stage. Both crossed the line in the top 10 today en route to finishing 4th and 7th overall respectively. Kiesanowski also finished 2nd in the Sprint competition.

For Stephens, it showed that she has built on her overall victory in the USA Cycling NRC individual competition, demonstrating that she can ride with the best in the world.

In today’s closing hilly Stage 4 road race, Stephens and Kiesanowski both made a select front group of 13 that finished 0:07 behind stage winner Anna van der Breggen.

“It was an iconic race today in Geraardsbergen,” said Kiesanowski. “It was very special getting to race up the famous Muur several times.

“As we expected, the race split up when we went over the Muur the first time, and even more when we went over the second time, so it was good both Lauren and I were there in the front together.”

Stephens showed she was on form by opening the five-day tour with an impressive 2nd-place finish in the prologue, putting her in GC contention. With the Team consistently placing in the top 10 all week, Stephens and Kiesanowski were both able to solidify a top 10 finish in the general classification among the world’s best cyclists.

Team TIBCO also showcased their team cohesion in the Stage 2 team time trial, placing 4th on the day – less than 1 second back from 2nd place. The result bodes well ahead of the Team Time Trial World Championships race in less than one week’s time.

In addition to Stephens and Kiesanowski, the squad included Amanda Miller, Anika Todd and Patricia Schwager.
