Beginning at the age of 12 in motocross, Johnny Greaves has won races and championships in every level of competition. At 23, he soon earned success while buggy racing. In the early ’90s, Greaves, from DePere, Wis., earned multiple buggy-class championships. That very same year, Greaves took his first steps in compact trucks by racing select events in Class 7s. In 1993, he began racing trucks exclusively and debuted a Toyota SR-5. With his energies devoted full-time to truck racing, Greaves finished the season in the winner’s circle at the final two events of the season.
He moved up to the four wheel drive Pro-4 class in 2001. The series is the premiere division in the short course off-road series. He had three victories in his rookie season and finished third in the points standings. He became the first driver to win a race in all three divisions in CORR. Greaves won three races and the series championship in 2002 and finished fourth in the 2003 championship. He won four events in 2003 and 2004, including the 2004 Borg-Warner Cup at Crandon. After CORR and WSORR both ended after the 2008 season, he continued off-road racing in the TORC Series starting in 2009. He won the 2010 Pro 4x4 championship and continues to race the Pro4X4 Class in the TORC Series. Johnny’s Maxxis tires of choice on and off the track are the Trepador Radial and the Razr SCR.
