With the goal of attracting promising STEM students to the tire industry, Maxxis is sponsoring the Future Tires category of the Monte Jade Innovation Competition (MJIC) for the second straight year.
In addition to Future Tires, the contest also features the Concept Product category. Future Tires requires entrants to submit a tire design or prototype plus supporting information, while Concept Product requires students to create a hardware or software solution for a real-world problem or challenge.
For the Future Tires category, the first-prize winner will receive $3,000; the second-prize winner will get $2,000; and three third-prize winners will receive $1,000. Concept Product winners will also receive thousands of dollars in prizes. Winners will have potential opportunities for internships or mentoring from professionals. In both contest categories, entries are accepted from individuals and from teams of up to three members.
All entrants must be student members of Monte Jade Southeastern. Undergraduate and graduate students at US colleges and universities are eligible to join the group through its website, www.montejadese.org.
