Maxxis Ends 2020 with Championships

Maxxis Ends 2020 with Championships in ATV MX, GNCC, Lucas Oil SxS, Championship Off-Road; Maxxis’ Riders Strong with Two WORCS, AMA NGPC Rounds to GO

Maxxis’ roster of sponsored riders has ended 2020 by taking home championships in major series including ATV MX National Championship, GNCC, Lucas Oil Off Road, and Championship Off-Road.

Chad Wienen earned the AMA Pro championship with five victories and five second place finishes, racking up 418 points for the year. Fellow Maxxis rider Joel Hetrick was second for the year with five wins and four second place spots on the podium. Bryce Ford earned fourth place overall, and bother Cody took second place overall in the Pro Mod class. In addition to taking sixth place for the year in AMA Pro, Alan Myers hit a milestone this year when he took his first podium in the series, earning first place at the opening round.

Austin Abney, Becca Sheets and Hannah Hunter took home GNCC championships for Maxxis. Abney took the XC2 Pro Am title after earning five wins and six second place spots on the podium, while Hunter won every WXC ATV round but one this year; she took second place at Round 4. In WXC Bike, Becca Sheets won six rounds and earned six podiums to take the championship.  Among other notable results from Maxxis riders, rising motocross star Thor Powell won the final race in the 85cc division in only his fourth attempt at GNCC racing.

Chris Borich (Phenix Honda Racing) took fourth place at the season finale, the Buckwheat 100, and is fifth for the year in GNCC XC1 Pro. Hunter Hart (HHR/Maxxis/Fly Racing/Ithaca Recreation Sports) was sixth at the finale and is seventh overall.  

Brock Heger took second place for the year in Lucas Oil Off Road Nationals’ Production 1000 UTV class.

In Championship Off-Road, CJ Greaves added the 2020 Pro Mod SxS and Pro Stock titles to his considerable list of achievements.

With two rounds left to go in WORCS, Dante Oliveira (RPM Racing) is a close second in points for the Pro MC class, with Zach Bell (Precision Concepts/Kawasaki) holding ninth place. Mateo Oliveira (RPM Racing) leads the Pro 2 MC class in points, while J.P. Alvarez (Precision Concepts/Kawasaki) holds the lead in 250 A. Clay Hengeveld (Precision Concepts/Kawasaki) is eighth in 450 A and 12th in Pro 2.

Dante Oliveira leads the Pro class of the AMA National Grand Prix Championship season, which also has two rounds left in its season. Bell is sixth, and Preston Campbell (JCR Honda) is seventh. Mateo Oliveira is fourth in Pro II standings, and Hengeveld is eighth. Tarah Geiger (JCR Honda) is third in the Pro Women class, and second in 30+/98-250cc. Bell is first in the 250cc Open AA class.
