Kabush, Nash Win First Two Stages of BC Bike Race

Geoff Kabush and Katerina Nash started strong in the BC Bike Race, winning the first two stages of the men’s and women’s races. Nash led a Maxxis sweep of the women’s podium in both stages, and Kabush and Sam Schultz took the top two men’s spots in both stages as well. The eight-stage race began July 6 and runs through July 13 in British Columbia, Canada.

The legendary Kabush, of Yeti/Maxxis/Shimano/Fox, is the defending champion in the men’s race, which began in North Vancouver’s Cowichan Valley. Kabush held the lead from the start of the 41-kilometer Stage 1, with Rocky Mountain/7mesh’s Schultz hot on his heels. Clif PRO Team’s Nash also took an early lead in the women’s category and held it throughout the race, with teammate Hannah Finchamp taking second place and Hielke Elferink of Maloja-Rocky Mountain in third place. In a repeat performance, Finchamp and Elferink would also finish second and third at Day 2’s Cumberland stage.

Maxxis congratulates Geoff Kabush and Katerina Nash on their victories and thanks Sam Schultz, Hannah Finchamp, and Hielke Elferink for their fine performances.
