Maxxis Riders Take 9 Top 10 Spots at Enduro World Series Round 1

Three Maxxis-sponsored riders finished in the top five in their respective races at the opening round of the Enduro World Series, held March 24-25 in Lo Barnechea, Chile.

The six-stage race was set high in the Andes, with three stages scheduled for each day; riders who finished overcame brutal conditions. Robin Wallner of Ibis Cycles Enduro Race Team took third place in the men’s category, with Jesse Melamed of Rocky Mountain/Race Face Enduro Team in fifth place. In the women’s race, Ibis Cycles Enduro Race Team’s Bex Baraona took fourth place.

Several other riders made the men’s top ten: Giant Factory Off-Road Team’s Josh Carlson finished seventh, Dimitri Tordo of Canyon Factory Enduro Team took ninth place, and Shawn Neer of Yeti Factory Enduro Team rounded out the top ten.

Three additional riders sponsored by Maxxis made the women’s top ten. Rae Morrison of Giant Factory Off-Road Team, Canyon Factory Enduro Team’s Ines Thoma, and Becky Cook of the Orbea Enduro Team were eighth, ninth, and tenth, respectively.

The second round of the 2018 Enduro World Series begins March 31 in the city of Manizales, Colombia, with a course that winds through everything from city streets to rainforests and coffee plantations.

Maxxis congratulates all these riders on delivering outstanding performances even under the most challenging conditions.
