Kitner looking through her next turn

Maxxis’ Riders Win 5 at Crankworx; 3 Victories for Kintner

Maxxis’ sponsored riders wasted no time in showing that they plan to dominate Crankworx, winning five events and taking five additional podiums at the first stop of the festival’s world tour. Jill Kintner, Keegan Wright, and Vaea Verbeeck each won events at the nine-day MTB festival, held March 17-25 in Rotorua on New Zealand’s North Island.

Unior Devinci Racing’s Wright won the men’s Giant Toa Enduro presented by Camelbak with an overall time of 28:08.0, five seconds less than the next rider. In the women’s contest, Maxxis took two of three podium positions, with Liv’s Ronja Hill-Wright taking second place and Rocky Mountain’s Verbeeck earning third.

Verbeeck took the win in women’s Redwood Downhill in 03:32.19, .23 seconds faster than the second-place rider. Kintner, riding for Norco, took third place. In the men’s event, MS Mondraker’s Brook MacDonald grabbed second place.

Riders sponsored by Maxxis were 1-2 in women’s 100% Dual Slalom, with Kintner earning the top spot on the podium and Kialani Hines of Troy Lee Designs in second place.

Kintner led a Maxxis sweep of the podium in women’s Air Downhill, finishing in 02:19.76. Verbeeck was second, and Pivot Cycles’ Emilie Siegenthaler was third.

The third win for Kintner came in RockShox’ Pump Track Challenge, with Hines joining her on the podium in second place.

The company’s riders weren’t finished taking podiums, with Tyler McCaul of GT Bicycles taking third place in the Official Oceania Whip-Off Challenge, Siegenthaler earning second place in women’s Crankworx Rotorua Downhill, and Canyon Cycles’ Thomas Genon on the podium in second place in Crankworx’ Rotorua Slopestyle.

Maxxis congratulates Jill Kintner, Vaea Verbeeck, and Keegan Wright on their victories and thanks all of its riders for their fine performances.
