The Coronel Dakar Team shows new Dakar Rally car with Maxxis tires!

For more than 10 years Maxxis has been the tyre partner of the Dutch Coronel Dakar Team. This year the team will be appearing at the start of Dakar 2022 with a brand new car, the Century CR6. At the previous Dakar edition Tim and Tom said that they were ready for something new. That moment is now. This year Maxxis is once again tyre partner and sponsor. The new car uses the Maxxis tyres MT772, AT811 and M8060 which are perfectly suited for Le Dakar! Dakar 2022 will be driven from the 1st of January till the 14th of January 2022.

New car: Century CR6!

Last year Tim and Tim almost drove a prefect Dakar with The Beast. After two weeks of competition in the Arabian desert they finished at the 26st place. There weren’t big problems with The Beast, but every day was the same complaint, a lack of speed. Unlike The beast, the Century is a car that was built for rally raids. With a 7.0 Chevrolet V8 engine on board of the Century CR6, speed will no longer be the problem.

Maxxis Tyres

This year, there will be driven with different tyre profiles, including the MT772, AT811 and the M8060. The MT772 was declared the winner of an Australian 4×4 tyre test in 2020. The M8060 is not unknown and was also used in the previous edition of Dakar 2021. During the Dakar, the quality of the tyres was found to be 100% Dakar-proof every time.

Maxxis also uses the tyre experience gained by the Dakar Team to develop its passenger car, SUV, 4×4 and VAN tyres. Reedijk Banden Import BV (official Maxxis tyre distributor in the Benelux), Tim Coronel and Maxxis International have been working together successfully since 2011.
