Riding the same four Maxxis tires for 1,140 miles, Pete Sohren has taken his first SCORE Baja 1000 victory. he grueling race was held November 13 on a course which ran from Ensenada to La Paz, Baja California, Mexico.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Sohren\u2019s 40\u201d inch repador radials took him, along with co-drivers Jason McNeil, Randy Bluth, Ron Stobaugh and Eric Filar, across the finish line in 32:11:20.925. he Class 7 win was Sohren\u2019s fourth SCORE victory of the year.\u00a0<\/p>\n
he veteran driver, who began the race with daughter Paige by his side, said that his Maxxis tires gave him a huge advantage in the gnarly terrain, allowing his team to open and maintain a one-hour lead by the time of his hand-off to McNeil. Across a course made even more challenging by a recent hurricane, the team was able to extend their already sizable lead to more than three hours by the end of the event. \u201c hanks to our 40-inch Maxxis repadors, we didn\u2019t have a single flat the entire race!\u201d Sohren said at the finish line. \u201cWe stayed on the marked course all day and didn\u2019t have any issues. Our pit stops were quick and on point, our Rigid lights got us through Baja\u2019s black night, and our King Shocks were impeccable. I couldn\u2019t be more happy with our 2014 season: five victories and eight podium finishes. We can\u2019t wait for 2015!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
