UnitedHealthcare\u2019s Blue rain employed their legendary teamwork to help Kiel Reijnen win his second straight Philadelphia Cycling Classic. eam SmartStop\u2019s Jure Kocjan took the second-place spot on the podium. he race was held June 1.<\/p>\n

Reijnen\u2019s teammates, including Jonny Clarke, Jeff Louder, Chris Jones, Danny Summerhill and Isaac Bolivar worked throughout the 120-mile race to keep Reijnen in the front group. With just three kilometers left before the finish line, teammates John Murphy and Ken Hanson protected Reijnen until the last of the event\u2019s ten ascents, when Reijnen sprinted to victory in a final push. “My teammates dragged me all the way round the last lap and dropped me off at the bottom of the climb,” Reijnen told cyclingnews.com. “I didn’t know that I had won by such a big gap. I didn’t look back. It’s nice to win on my birthday, but the goal coming into the race was to win for the team.”<\/p>\n

he race held additional good news for Maxxis with the men\u2019s sprint award going to Kocjan\u2019s teammate Joshua Berry and Jelly Belly presented by Maxxis rider Jacob Rathe winning the Young Rider award. UHC\u2019s Alison Powers won the women\u2019s sprint and Queen of the Mountain.<\/p>\n
