British Superbike round 7 update

Reigning BSB champion Tommy Hill started the day by welcoming the Olympic torch to Brands Hatch and then got down to business.  However, it was always going to be tough since Brands Hatch is home circuit to both Tommy and current number two in the championship, Shane Byrne.  Unfortunately for the first round Tommy Hill had clutch problems to overcome meaning that he struggled. The silver-lining for Maxxis sponsored team Swan Yamaha was that after Nori Haga crashed out in the last lap from a hard fought third position Tommy Hill ended with a podium place in third. Shane Byrne and Josh Brookes taking first and second places respectively.

The good news for Nori was that the crew worked hard and he was able to take part in the second race of the day managing to take fifth place which keeps him in sixth spot overall.  Race two was a real battle and the resulting podiums were a carbon copy of race one so again Shane Byrne, and Josh Brookes took first and second places.

The championship leader board however, remains unchanged with Tommy Hill in top spot but with Shane Byrne closing the gap and Australian Josh Brookes in hot pursuit the rest of the championship is definitley worth watching!
