High five for Maxxis Trepador at King of Poland

It was another successful weekend of racing for Maxxis as it helped power a number of drivers to strong performances in the King of Poland 2018 race. Part of the Ultra4 Europe race series, competitors who finished in the top five positions all navigated one of the most challenging 4x4 terrains using Maxxis Trepador tyres, cementing their position as one of the leading off-road 4x4 tyres available to drivers.

Particularly impressive over the weekend’s high-stakes action was Axel Burmann and co-driver Tom Olieslagers, who reached the top of the podium in the unlimited class with the help of the Trepador tyre, achieving a second place finish in the overall championship. Also on the Trepador was Gigglepin Racing and off-road 4×4 legend, Jim Marsden, who reached the chequered flag in fourth place for his team, narrowly missing out on a podium spot.

It was also a gleaming debut performance for Synchro Racing team, who achieved a third place finish in the legends class in its very first year in the competition. Likewise, competing in the legends class in Poland was Mark Dean UK and Dan Elias/Nick Bolt of Wrex 27, both of whom capped off an impressive season to finish first and second respectively in the overall legends championships. The awe-inspiring performances came on one of Ultra4’s toughest circuits, with a 22km course that features some of the fastest tracks in Europe combined with a multitude of deep woods, sand tracks and abrasive rocky surfaces.

Commenting on the Trepador’s successful performance, Andrew Reitzner, tyre manager at Maxxis, said: “Everyone here at Maxxis always looks forward to the Ultra4 Europe series. It’s a great thrill to not only watch, but also feel part of the action seeing our Maxxis Trepador tyres in action. This past weekend, we were fortunate enough to have the top five finishes on the Extreme 4×4 tyres, which firmly cements their position as a top tier tyre for off-road competition.”

The King of Poland brought an end to the Ultra4 series, with teams now looking ahead to the curtain raising race in 2019, the King of France.
