Jets Facelift Send Sales Soaring

Jet Tyres in Canvey Island has been given a complete overhaul courtesy of Stapleton’s and Maxxis. Internal and exterior paintwork, signage and point-of-sale items have all been refreshed and the already popular retailer is reporting instant results in terms of increased sales.

The recent revamp was funded entirely by Maxxis, and coincided with Jet’s 20th year at its Canvey Island site. As well as clearer branding and service information on the outside, the garage now also has a bright new reception area for customers to wait and talk to staff in.

Investment from Maxxis has come at an ideal time for Jet, as owner Bob Salmon explains: “We’ve been around for over four decades and spent twenty years in this building – so it was time to freshen it up again. When Stapleton’s mentioned there was an opportunity to partner with Maxxis we jumped at the chance. The brand is flying at the moment with a really strong position in the market, and it gave a good lift to the staff on the shop floor. It seems like a new workshop.

“People are looking beyond what have traditionally been considered to be the premium brands for quality now, and I am always happy to recommend Maxxis to customers, friends and family. In terms of availability, they do just about everything in tyres so it’s a good choice for a core range. I’d say one in five of our stock and sales is Maxxis, and that number is just going up with the new branding.”

Sales of Maxxis tyres went up in the month following the refit, with clearer signage, more information and better visibility from the main road all contributing to the uptake. The success at Jet means Stapleton’s is now expecting a great deal of interest in the new Maxxis Centre of Excellence programme, as Marketing Manager Stephen Bradshaw confirms:

“Jet Tyres looks great and the new branding has certainly been good for business. The distinctive orange and black stands out very well, and with the new signage the place feels very professional. The Maxxis Centre of Excellence initiative has been designed to help drive sales into supporting Maxxis retailers during what are challenging times for everyone, and although still in its infancy, there has been considerable interest in the programme and we look forward to more success stories like Jet Tyres”.
