Maxxis Henderson LPE Kawasaki part with Barr

Kawasaki’s official motocross team in the UK have parted with MX1 rider Martin Barr by mutual consent.

In a change of direction for both Barr and the Maxxis Henderson LPE team, the choice has been made to relieve the rider of his duties and allow him to seek a ride elsewhere. Making the difficult decision, Team Principle, Steve James noted that the season had not started in the way either party would have wished and that there looked to be no significant change to the pattern of results already established.

“You have to accept sometimes in motocross that a rider and machine just don’t gel 100%. As a machine with championship winning potential, the KX450F is a potent weapon but, for Martin and the team, the results were not in proportion to the effort expended and we had to call it a day by mutual agreement.”

In their fourth year as the official Kawasaki Motors UK Motocross team, Maxxis Henderson LPE Kawasaki are now actively seeking a replacement for Barr while wishing him luck in securing another ride.

“There’s no animosity”, confirmed James. “It’s just one of those things, we’ve got to put it behind us and concentrate on achieving the results that we and our sponsors know the bike is capable of. We fully expect to be announcing a new rider before this weekend’s round two of the Red Bull Pro National Championship.”
