Maxxis shortlisted for BikeBiz P&A Brand of The Year

The world’s number one bicycle tyre manufacturer, Maxxis, has been shortlisted in the 2017 BikeBiz Awards for the category of P&A (Parts and Accessories) Brand of the Year. Up against some cycle industry heavyweights including SRAM, EVOC and Giro, the winner will be announced at the award ceremony held during The London Bike Show at Excel Centre, February 17th 2017.

The BikeBiz Awards have been a prominent feature in the cycle industry calendar for the best part of a decade and are designed to ‘celebrate the UK cycle industry and the people and companies whose hard work behind the scenes keeps the cycle world’s wheels turning.’ The P&A brand of the year award has been previously bestowed on names such as Lezyne and Giro, and, if won by Maxxis in February, will be testament to the iconic tyre manufacturer’s commitment to producing the best quality cycle tyres that deliver supreme performance to riders across all cycle disciplines, as Maxxis managing director, Derek McMartin confirms: “2016 has been a phenomenal year for Maxxis as we’ve seen the brand transcend its comfort zone of MTB and become recognised as a serious contender across multiple other cycle disciplines from road to BMX. Maxxis is ‘the’ tyre of choice for MTB riders yet the same research and development, and investment in quality materials and manufacturing practice, goes into all cycle tyres we produce.

“To be shortlisted for Brand of the Year, the same year that we enter our half century in business, demonstrates that the industry is hearing that message and taking note of Maxxis and its growing reputation in sectors outside of MTB. We’re up against some pretty strong brands but we are confident in the strength of the Maxxis brand and all it stands for and represents.  Just to be shortlisted is accolade enough but a win would really be the cherry on the cake and will help us kick off 2017 with a bang.”
