Solid Podium for Leok and LPE Kawasaki at Canada Heights

Canada Heights in Kent marked the third stop of the Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship. Following a break from domestic action to compete at the Grand Prix’s, Maxxis sponsored LPE Kawasaki returned to the UK for the trip to newly redesigned Canada Heights circuit.

With rain during the night and into the morning of qualifying the track surface was left in great condition. In the MX1 qualifying session both Tanel Leok and Jamie Law were able to produce some good lap times to finish third and fourteenth fastest.

In the first MX1 race of the day Maxxis rider Tanel made a strong start and was into third place early on and was looking to make a move on Anderson for second. Meanwhile Jamie suffered a bad start and had a lot of work to do to recover to 16th at the finish. At the finish Tanel managed to get around Anderson for second.

The second MX1 race of the day saw the race red flagged early on and in the restart both Tanel and Jamie started inside the top 10 and as the race progressed Tanel moved forward into fourth and the finish, while Jamie ended the race in fifteenth place.

The third and final MX1 race would see Tanel inside the top 3 while Jamie was in 15that the end of the opening lap. Tanel pushed hard and moved himself into second place after Anderson crashed out. Unfortunately for Jamie a mechanical issue forced him out of the race while in 12th place.

Tanel ended the day in second overall and continued to sit in second place in the championship standings while Jamie finished the day in 19th overall and slipped down to 10th in the championship standings.

Tanel Leok – I’m happy to finish in second overall and on the podium once again but today has been really tough for me. During the whole weekend I have been suffering with a virus and that has left me with very little energy out on track. I will go to the doctors this weekend and get checked out, but overall I’m happy.

Steve James – Team Manager – today has been a bit of a mixed day, Tanel has not been feeling well all weekend, but still rode hard and took second overall and remains second in the championship and extend the gap over third. Unfortunately for Jamie and Ben it was a mixed day, with Ben opting not to ride due to personal reasons. For Jamie it was a case of bad luck during the day which resulted in a DNF during the last race which has dropped Jamie from 8th to 10th in the Championship. Overall for today all three riders are healthy and we are still in the title race behind Simpson and will continue to push hard.
