Forbes’ Asia Fab 50 Celebrated

Companies which made Forbes’ Asia Fabulous 50 list took a bow this week as they were formally recognized at an award ceremony in China.

The award dinner was held November 19 at the Regent Hotel in Beijing. Cheng Shin Rubber Ind. Co., Ltd. d/b/a Maxxis International was one of just two Taiwanese companies honored at the ceremony.

The Forbes Asia Fab 50 list was published in September by Forbes Asia, and the 2013 ranking is the second in a row to include Maxxis. As the magazine noted in explaining Maxxis’ repeat appearance on the list, the company’s net profit increased by 86% last year to $530 million.

This year’s list was whittled down to 50 from 1,220 companies in the Asia-Pacific region with a minimum of $3 billion in annual revenue or market capitalization. In compiling the list, Forbes considered revenue, earnings, returns on capital, share-price movement and outlook.
