Nissan Acceleration Team Vie for the Podium at Tire Rack SCCA Solo Nationals
Racing Maxxis’ Victra RC-1 and Victra VR-1 tires, drivers on the Nissan Acceleration Team (NAT) turned in excellent performances at the Tire Rack 50th SCCA Solo Nationals.
A jaw-dropping 1,300 drivers competed in the Nationals, held September 5-8 at the Lincoln Air Park in Lincoln, Nebraska. NAT battled the competition in a Z Performance, Altima SR VC-Turbo, and Maxima SR, equipped with either the Maxxis Victra VR-1 200TW Extreme Summer tire or the Maxxis Victra RC-1 100TW slicks. The Altima SR VC-Turbo’s driver claimed third place in HS-L (H Street – Ladies) on the VR-1, and the Z Performance’s driver took first place in SSM-L (Super Street Modified – Ladies) on the RC-1.
“The VR-1 and RC-1 are used in various forms of motorsports in everything from HPDEs to endurance racing. The RC-1 has been the spec tire for NASA’s Spec E30 since 2022 and WCMA’s Spec Miata since 2023. Despite the fact that this was our first appearance at Solo Nationals, we were confident that our tires and the NAT team would perform well. I’m appreciative of the support we receive from NAT and proud of the team’s performance with a noteworthy first-place trophy in the Nissan Z Performance,” said Maxxis OE account manager Mark Lin.
NAT is an employee-run motorsports team from Nissan’s Farmington Hills, Michigan technical center (NTCNA-FH). The team posted a jubilant message on Instagram regarding their performance at the Nationals: “So proud of all the crew who went with us to SCCA Nationals! We were able to be competitive in HS, STU and were able to take the trophy in SSML! We’re ready for the next event!”
