Schurter was part of the front group on the first lap of the XC race, and opened a gap along with one other rider on the fourth lap. On the fifth lap, Schurter gained the lead and held it through the finish line, winning by a margin of 30 seconds.

Danny Hart (Madison Saracen Factory Team) was fourth in men’s downhill at Mont-Sainte-Anne, with Greg Minnaar (Santa Cruz Syndicate) in fifth place. Emilie Siegenthaler (Pivot Factory Racing) was fifth in women’s DH, Vaea Verbeeck (Rocky Mountain) was eighth, and Sian A’Hern (SRAM/RockShox/Norco Bicycles/TLD/Maxxis) was ninth.
