UPDATE 2: CORONELS ARE UP TO SPEED IN THIRD STAGE!

The third stage is already over. In this stage, Tim and Tom Coronel were up to speed. With the 24th time, they were faster than top drivers like Sébastien Loeb, Cyril Despres and Bernhard ten Brinke.

The stage was shortened to 255 kilometres due to the rain of the past few days. The stage was shortened to 255 kilometres due to the rain of the past few days. During the stage the Coronels smelled rubber, fortunately it was not Tim and Tom’s tyres, but their predecessor’s. Time to change the tyres! The Coronel Dakar Team drives with Maxxis M8060 tyres. These tyres were used in previous Dakar editions and are Dakar-proof qualified by the Coronels!

The Desert Lion 247 reached the finish line unscathed, where it turned out that the brothers had only conceded 25 minutes to stage winner Carlos Sainz. In the rankings they are currently in 20th place. That could all change tomorrow. Then 465 kilometres are on the menu; the longest competition test of the Dakar Rally 2022, from Al Qaisumah to Riyadh. We wish the Coronels success in this long stage!
