Overdrive Tyre: User Reviews
Sometimes the best hybrid cycle tyre reviews come from riders just like you.
Rider, ChainReactionCycles.com, January 2020:
“I’ve been using these tyres for 5 years now and won’t buy anything else for my commuter. Never had a puncture even though I have ridden through glass. Have ridden down gravel path tracks that my racing tyres wouldn’t go through, wet and dry. Yes, they need levers to put on but I haven’t rolled a tyre off.”
Rider, ChainReactionCycles.com, August 2012:
“I run these tubeless on my Mavic C29SSMAX wheels and find them extremely reliable so far. They were dead easy to setup tubeless using 1 scoop of Stans sealant, and run at 50psi they roll extremely well and soak up the bumps nicely. I have run the 26” version of these for over 4 years and done thousands of kilometres, getting great wear and zero flats.”
Cross Country Rider, MTBR.com, August 2012:
“I used a single pair of these during a 9 month journey from Istanbul to Singapore, a 11,500km unsupported touring adventure. I had started with the stock Continental Contacts but destroyed them in 1,800km, and was lucky to find [the Maxxis Overdrive] in Tabriz, Iran. I put close to 10,000km on these, and by the end of the journey I reckon they could have done another 5,000, albeit with an increased frequency of punctures… Bottom line is, these tyres proved reliable and very safe to ride, never felt betrayed no matter the riding conditions, which is a major factor when you are far from home. They seem comfortable and even though I didn’t try the renowned Marathon Plus for long enough to compare, there is no doubt that at less than £20, they are better value than the Schwalbe.”
