Senior Sales Manager (Automotive RE)

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Senior Sales Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining long-term relationships with replacement market automotive tire partners within Canada. This sales role is primarily B2B (business-to-business) but includes some B2C (business-to-consumer) sales. This position is also responsible for collaborating with development, marketing, and distribution to ensure the successful coordination of customer activities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Aggressively grow revenues in new markets, as well as maintain current customer base
  • Provide strong analytics to consistently identify revenue opportunities for growth and provide follow up on prospective new business
  • Develop strategic business plans for assigned accounts and manage projects to meet short and long-term sales and profitability goals
  • Develop and implement pricing strategies aligned with market trends and company objectives while collaborating closely with Maxxis headquarters to ensure competitive pricing across all product lines
  • Gather market intelligence to analyze and share with cross-functional teams
  • Provide well-researched solutions to customer challenges
  • Manage sales processes, from initiation to fulfillment, to ensure timely delivery and properly maintained inventory
  • Monitor shipping schedules and coordinate with logistics teams to optimize processes
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through efficient resolution of issues and proactive support
  • Conduct product training to customers to ensure comprehensive understanding of all features, benefits, and application of Maxxis products
  • Proactively assess, clarify and validate customer needs on an ongoing basis
  • Represent Maxxis professionally at industry trade shows, exhibitions, and dealer events

Qualifications:

  • Ten (10) plus years of direct tire manufacturer experience required
  • Ten (10) plus years of outside sales experience required
  • Experience managing a sales team preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Extensive knowledge of the automotive tire industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Sense of urgency; excellent time management and multitasking skills
  • Proven excellence in customer service
  • Strong analytical and relationship building skills
  • Proficient in MS Office (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work and operate according to our T.I.R.E.S values

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Workplace is a distribution centre consisting of office and warehouse environments with variable noise, temperature, and odor (rubber) levels
  • Required to sit for prolonged periods of time
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones and photocopiers
  • Some off-hour teleconferencing with overseas counterparts
  • Travel required, including some nights and weekends, within North America, and occasional travel overseas with notice
